Natural Clothing and the Environment

When you begin to think about buying organic clothing, look for labels that say "Certified Organic." This credential will only be on items that meet strict guidelines defined by the National Organic Standards Board. What this means is that the item of clothing has met all standards related to the soil in which it started all the way through the growing and eventual processing of the product.

When you are buying clothing make sure it is labeled 100% natural fibers including flax (linen), silk, cotton, wool, and hemp. Some advantages of buying clothes that are natural organic are that they help your skin breathe and they do not release toxic fumes from pesticides.

A popular organic material used in organic and green clothing today is hemp. Hemp is popular because of it's adaptability and strength. Industrialization of hemp is earth healthy because it has a short growing cycle which results in a cost-effective and reasonably-priced crop.

Unfortunately, there is considerable misunderstanding about hemp. The lessening of prejudice will help the organic or green clothing industry provide consumers with products made of hemp which are warmer, softer, more absorbent, and breathable that clothing made of cotton. Not only does hemp have these user-friendly features, clothing made of hemp is so linen-like that even a connoisseur of linen might be confused. It can also be produced to have the look and feel of flannel and will keep wearers warm on long winter nights. Hemp is two to three times more durable than comparable fabrics.

On the dying and finishing of fabric, where needed, Yes Clothing work very closely with a BS9000 approved dye house who have different finishing techniques to satisfy the wide range of products required. Their in house laboratory carries out temperature testing for fabric stability, shrinkage and colour fastness tests, dry and wet rubbing, PH value, light fastness tests and weight per square metre.

All fabrics are also independently tested and must meet customer's standards before the cutting stage.

Garments are all cut in house ensuring that they are cut precisely, quickly and cost effectively.

Yes Clothing's dedicated U.K based factories have all been evaluated and approved by IRPC Management Control Systems who implement a strict code of conduct, both for working conditions and quality assured procedures. Yes Clothing implement the same code of conduct with their off shore production, producing stylish women's and men's organic cotton clothing without harming the environment.

Yes Clothing endeavours to work closely with their customers, from reacting very quickly to market trends to providing a stock service on basic garments via EDI link if required, and recognises the market requirement for quick response times at competitive prices.
